Jess and Nate’s epic hiking elopement in Yosemite National Park was something out of a dream – every moment of their day was filled with intimate and adventurous moments as they experienced these insane views together for the first time. Here’s their story:
Jess said: “We met at a hostel in Boston shortly after the new year in 2017. It was pub crawl night at the hostel. Nathan had a great night slamming margs, I enjoyed his awful karaoke rendition of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and we ended the night stuffing our faces with some Chinese food at 3 in the morning. The rest is history! Then on the last day of finals of Nathan’s first semester of school in the states, we went out to celebrate with some dinner and drinks. We came home and started to settle down for the night. Nathan pulled me aside and in front of the Christmas tree, got down on one knee and proposed.”
“The main reason being COVID. As our families and friends live all over the world, COVID added another difficult factor to trying to get everyone together. When things started shutting down, it gave us time to reflect on the situation and decide what we really wanted for ourselves, and we decided on a peaceful, intimate day we could focus on just each other and ultimately chose to elope.”
Yosemite was the perfect setting for their wedding day vision of the ‘top of a mountain feels’. They said: “We both love traveling and exploring new places, and we want to be able to eventually check off all of the national parks. Yosemite was one we both had never been to and just looked absolutely beautiful.”
“A couple of our favorite moments was definitely arriving to our ceremony location and being able to soak in both the views and the moment with each other and also the champagne pop – so epic and so so fun.”
The grandeur of this location is so breathtaking, and an incredible setting to start the first day of the rest of their lives together.
Cheers!
