Jon’s proposal to Cassie was something that you’d see on the ABC show, The Bachelor. While in Sedona, Arizona on a trip together, they went on a helicopter ride. Once they landed on a gorgeous red-rock moutain, Jon got down on one knee and asked Cassie to marry him. Get this – there was another couple on the helicopter tour with them, and they snagged a few pictures of their proposal on the camera they brought with them! Cassie said that made it all the better for her – having pictures of their proposal to hang on the walls in their home!
Once they were engaged, they dove into planning their wedding. Cassie went dress shopping with her Mom, Mother-In-Law, sister and two best friends! Before she went to pick out a dress, she had a handful of gowns that she knew she wanted to try on. While at Mia Grace Bridal, the stylist picked out a totally different style for her that ended up being the one she chose to wear on her wedding day! Their wedding day vision consisted of simple and cute; they didn’t want anything too over the top. Since they’re a laid-back couple by nature, they wanted their day to reflect just that.
Cassie and Jon chose to write letters to one another to read privately prior to their ceremony. This ended up being Cassie’s favorite part of their day. She loved being able to be close to one another and talk about their relationship together.
Though it rained for all of 15 minutes on their wedding (holla for sneaking a few pictures on the lake!), they stayed calm and rolled with the punches. They were able to move their ceremony location to under the pavilion at Little Piney and moved their reception from the pavillion to the Fest Room, making it an easy and painless rainy-day backup plan!
Cheers to the kickoff of my Fall wedding season and cheers to not letting rain ruin the day!
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Overstreet!!
