Amber and David’s absolutely breathtaking horseshoe bend elopement in Arizona was absolutely incredible and genuinely the MOST fun day with them. The two of them (along with her sister and his brother) traveled out to the Southwest from Wisconsin for their intimate elopement day! I still remember Amber asking me: “How do you elope at Horseshoe Bend?!”. Well – with being an arizona elopement photographer, I was able to make that dream of theirs a reality in just a few short weeks. Here’s their story:

THE PROPOSAL

After originally meeting in high school and then reconnecting a few years later, these two were clearly meant to be. David later proposed to Amber in the sweetest way! Here’s how it went down: “David came back from a 9 month deployment and we rented a cabin about 2 hours from our house. We wanted a relaxing weekend doing what we loved – being outside, hanging out, golfing! Our best friend couple came up to visit and of course everyone knew about the proposal but me. We came back from a day of golf and were sitting by the fire David got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! After all the years apart from each other it felt so right to be able to spend the rest of our lives together.”

THEIR ELOPEMENT

When it came to deciding to elope instead of having a big, local wedding, David and Amber said: “BIG weddings scare me (Amber) especially if it was going to be mine. The time it takes to plan out one day along with the money just doesn’t sound like much fun to me. We definitely missed not having our closest family and friends along on that day but our day was exactly what we dreamed of and we will celebrate back home here next year!”

Their favorite part of their day was when they were standing overlooking horseshoe bend, exchanging vows with her sister and his brother by their sides. 

These two newly weds are honestly some of the kindest, most genuine people – they even brought some local cheeses and beers from their homestate for me and my husband (who was their officiant!). We all had an incredibly awesome time, and celebrated the heck out of Amber and David.
