After Cynthia and Jeremy’s destination wedding in Bali was affected by COVID, they decided not to let 2020 get the best of their wedding celebration. They pivoted and re-planned an intimate wedding at Tercero by Aldea in just a few weeks – it was absolutely nothing short of amazing. Here’s their story:
“We met on a cruise in Mexico! I saw him on the first day (and commented how hot he was!) and my aunt played match maker to get us to meet. After the cruise, we went our separate ways – he went back to Arizona and I went home to California. We hadn’t even exchanged phone numbers! I only knew a few things about him, but with the help of google & my good friends, we found his email address! I ended up emailing him and
Telling him that I couldn’t stop thinking about him and that maybe we could be friends. He reciprocated the feeling and we started messaging and getting to know each other over the phone. It wasn’t until over a month later that we reconnected when he visited me in San Francisco. From that point, we decided we had to give the long-distance thing a shot, visiting each other back and forth and spending countless hours on FaceTime and texting for a few months before I decided to take a leap of faith and move to Arizona. Long distance wasn’t easy, but it allowed us to get to know each other on such a deeper level than we thought, because we were always talking to each other.”
When Jeremy later proposed, Cynthia told me…“It was Christmas morning and we were opening gifts together at home alone. After all the presents were unwrapped, Jeremy mentioned that he had one more gift for me. He went to grab it from the other room, and suddenly, out came Rocky (our French Bulldog pup) dressed up as a reindeer with a scroll tied to his collar. On the scroll, Jeremy had hand written me a poem about our love and his dreams of making me his wife. As I read it, he got down on one knee and presented me with a RING POP! ….we are big Deadpool fans and we always joked about how he would propose to me like Ryan Reynolds did in the movie – he stuck to his promise! After the fun, he yielded a tiny black box with an engagement ring inside and asked me to marry him. It was the sweetest, most intimate moment and I wouldn’t change a thing about it!”
Though their original plans had to change thanks to #2020, Cynthia and Jeremy celebrated all night long with their closest friends and family. Their modern and moody vibe (with lots of candles) was absolutely stunning, especially when the two of them did their choreographed first dance. It was a night for the books, and one that was rightfully celebrated.
Cheers!
Allison
