Gary and Chelsea’s joy radiates.
It’s full of deep love, appreciation and excitement. It’s a joy that’s contagious.
Their wedding day was full of simply that – inexplicable, uncontainable joy and love for one another. They got married this past Saturday in Alton, Illinois and was able to have their daughter be a part of the biggest moment of their lives. Chelsea said that as untraditional as that was, it was one of her favorite parts of both Gary’s proposal to her and their wedding day, with having their daughter present. Chelsea said that she picked everything from her dress, jewelry and shoes in thought of her daughter for her to potentially use in her own wedding one day. Her Mom spent several hours with Chelsea leading up to their wedding hand-making many of their decor elements. Gary and Chelsea listened to songs several times, envisioning walking down the aisle on the day of their wedding to be married. She had always wanted to be married outside and ended up having THE most perfect weather on the day of their wedding. Chelsea said that her favorite detail of the day was when “Gary asked to write on the bottom of my shoe (he normally doesn’t do cheesy things like that, let alone be the one to ask me if he can). Also the way Gary smiled at me when I got to the bottom of the aisle or probably the fact that I couldn’t even tell you what the officiant was saying because Gary kept telling me how good i looked during the ceremony.” Gary’s favorite memory? It was seeing Chelsea for the first time as she walked down the aisle towards him.
Throughout the day, there were several detail elements that made it even more special and specific to the two of them, down to Chelsea’s bracelet and the handkerchief that was tied around her bouquet. Her Grandma passed away last year, and the bracelet Chelsea wore is the signature of her grandma off of the bottom of a birthday card where she had signed “love you, Grandma”. Gary’s mom had also given Chelsea Gary’s grandpa’s handkerchief who had also passed away, which was wrapped around the stems of her flowers.
I dare you to look through this blog without wearing the stupidest grin on your face – I’m telling you, it’s impossible.
Cheers to making your cheeks hurt!
