The grandeur of Yosemite National Park will always be something that I can’t full wrap my head around. While photographing this Yosemite elopement, I had to continually remind myself that YES – places like this truly do exist. (There’s so many incredible spots all throughout the park – click HERE to check out some of the best ones!)

After driving up a (very) windy road, we parked our cars and packed our hiking backpacks to begin walking the trail that lead to this epic viewpoint. We hiked a few miles through a gorgeous, lush pine-tree forest! As we reached the end of the trail, the dense trees suddenly opened up to THIS view. Yeah, you could say it took our breath away.

We all allowed ourselves some time to truly take in the view and be truly blown away by what was in front of us. Once we started photographing, we had the joy of watching the sun slowly dip behind the mountains – bathing everything in the most warm, glowing light.

We stayed until the very last minute of sunset, and hiked back to our cars by the sole light of our headlamps. That entire hike back, we couldn’t stop talking about how truly epic that evening had been. THIS is what a destination mountain-top elopement is made of.
