Ryan and Janelle met up with me for some Lake Tahoe Elopement images a few weeks back. We walked up and down the coastline together, taking in the dramatic views of sweeping pines and crystal clear water. These cuties met on Christian Mingle a few years back, and have the BEST proposal story to share:

Their Proposal:

“The proposal process began on March 4th. Everyday until March 19th, he sent me handwritten letters/cards themed with each definition of love as described in 1 Corinthians 13 (sixteen cards in all). One side had a love note and the other had little poems to match each definition and a verse for me to read. On March 20th, I received an additional card attached to balloons to represent “Love is in the Air” (because it was the first day of spring). This note was different from the rest because it told me that I needed to get ready for tomorrow because it was going to be a big day. He did it this way because I don’t really like surprises.

So, the 21st comes and I have no idea where we are going. We just get in the car and keep on driving for about three and a half hours. As we passed numerous signs and went through several counties, I still had no idea where he was taking me… until we passed a sign that said, “Yosemite.” I was really excited because I’ve wanted to go there with him for a long time. Once we were finished getting lost for 45 minutes, we got to the location that he had planned on. He made sure to incorporate all of my favorite things – lots of trees, water, and an amazing view. I even got to climb on things! He said the reason why he chose Yosemite was because he wanted it to be somewhere where we could proclaim our love amongst the great beauty of all God’s creation.

Then, he brought me out to the area and helped me on top of a tipped over redwood tree (my favorite). He turned to look at me and held my hands. When he began to talk, my tears starting flowing (which is a big deal because I never cry haha). All of the patience we disciplined ourselves with for waiting to get engaged/married was finally coming to an end. He said some meaningful things and then asked me! Although this goes without saying, I said Yes! We then had a spontaneous photoshoot after the proposal was captured on camera.”

I told you – it really is the best proposal story. Janelle and Ryan are some of the sweetest people I’ve met and it was SUCH a joy to take Lake Tahoe elopement images of them. Here’s to Janelle and Ryan!!
